So yeah, i guess you could say this is long overdue. I mainly have this so I can keep up with my friends and see how they are doing etc. But lets see, how about a quick overview since my last blog. In March we ushered in the era of "in-laws" as Joshua married Jessica Coburn on March 24, 2007. We had a beautiful spring day for it. My Dad flew in from Mesa and my sister and her family drove down from N.D. for it.
May brought the end of the 'homeschooling era' for us with Keeley graduating from High School (although, technically I was done with teaching the year before since she took 3 classes a semester at DACC as a dual-enrolled student.
The middle of June I drove one of the church vans full of teenagers down to Child Evangelism Fellowship headquarters in Warrenton, MO., for a week of volunteering. We had a great time! I got to work in the kitchen and also in the bindery along with Keeley throughout the week. I think we assembled some 5,000+ David books that week. What a blessing this place is. When we returned, we had a message on our answering machine that Keeley was to go in for an interview with Montana Mikes (a local steak house). She got the job!! That was a real blessing. She hostesses and waitresses there 3-4 days a week.
In July we volunteered to help out with the Advanced IBLP seminar held at our church. I was the 'techy' who operated the computer/dvd player for the sessions. I also put up 48 quarts of beans that week. (Do you think I was kept busy enough?!!!) Then on Monday, August 6th, we kept our promise to Keeley and took a day drive over to northern Kentucky to visit the Answers In Genesis 'Creation Museum' as part of her Graduation present.
School time seems to roll around earlier and earlier every year. Keeley got a wonderful surprise about ten days into the school year. She received a $1,000 scholarship and a $460 pell grant! That just about covered her tuition for the fall semester. PTL! And on top of that, she's not even minding attending DACC.
In early September our church hosted a Prophecy Conference with Jimmy DeYoung and Greg Momney. Now that was an awesome conference. We are indeed living in the last days. Keep looking up and listening for that Trumpet sound which will call us up to meet Christ in the Clouds one day soon!
In early October, Bruce & I took a mini-vacation and drove down to CEF headquarters and volunteered for 2 1/2 days. Although this was the 3rd time for me in less than a year of being there, it was Bruce's first time. I think he really enjoyed it and wouldn't mind doing it again sometime.
Bruce was involved in another Danville Light Opera musical....."Jekyll & Hyde. He played 2 different roles; that of the Bishop of Basingstoke in the first act and a minister/priest in the second act. He actually had numerous little solos throughout the play...so that was different.
Then this past Wednesday night we helped out with our Halloween alternative, known as the "Switch". Bruce helped Mr. Winkler at the last station where they handed out apples and Gideon New Testaments. I operated the first 'story station' where I told the story of the 6 days of Creation. We had a beautiful evening weather wise and a very good turnout for it.
Okay, I guess that's a wrap for now. That pretty much updates you on what's happened in our lives since my birthday post. Until next time.....
Have a Blessed Day.

Profound thoughts
"The existence of fool's gold doesn't mean there isn't real gold. And the existence of hypocrites who misuse religion doesn't mean there isn't a God in heaven who loves his children and sent his Son to die for them. Never confuse confessing Christians with Christ. The former will disappoint you but Christ never will. " by Stephanie Grace WhitsonToday is my Dad's 5th wedding anniversary. I remember the day he remarried after losing my Mom to cancer nearly 8 years ago now this coming April. Keeley and I flew to Mesa, AZ. for the wedding while Josh and Bruce stayed home and attended the homeschool B.Ball tourney in Indy. Tomorrow I will celebrate my 52nd birthday.....where has the time gone? In less than 2 months I will add a new member to my family as Josh takes Jessica to be his wife on March 24th. I'm excited about this new phase of life I'm entering. I guess that means the possibility of grandchildren lurks on the distant horizon. I want to cherish the memories and pass on a legacy to my children and future grandchildren. I want to redeem the time and make each moment count for Christ.
